Delivery Driver

 

Job Summary:

Mother Earth Food is a local grocery home delivery business located in West Asheville, NC. We support over 300 small farms and food businesses and deliver to over 700 customers per week. Our Drivers deliver grocery orders from the Mother Earth Food Warehouse to customers homes on designated routes in Asheville and the surrounding counties as well as some routes deliver to upstate South Carolina. Each route delivers between 50-70 orders and can be between 6-10 hours per route depending on location and number of orders. Multiple routes available and more being added. Duties/Responsibilities:

• Load delivery vehicle with orders scheduled for delivery.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses
• Communicate with team on any delays or issues
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Refuels vehicle as needed and after shift

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions and protocols
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Education and Experience:

• Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to load and unload boxes with and without dollies in various types of weather.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour

 

Warehouse Associate

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accurately and effectively pack customer delivery boxes with attention to detail
• Daily and weekly cleaning and sanitization of warehouse
• Rotate perishable items
• Organize cooler/freezer space
• Build and break down boxes
• Manually handles and stacks pallets of finished product as needed.
• Operates pallet jack as needed.
• Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company procedures.
• Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
• Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
• Team-player mindset; willing & able to work with a group to get the job done well
• Capable of receiving feedback and willing to work hard to learn and improve
• Optimistic and approaches challenges with enthusiasm

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment such as food service, warehouse, or construction.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Ability to move around the warehouse.

Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour
